Library building will reopen on Monday, June 1
Wednesday, May 27th, 2020
The library will allow the public to enter the building starting Monday, June 1. We will be open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
THERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS. Read them carefully before you leave home! We apologize for the inconvenience but we think these rules are critical to our reopening. If anyone who has been in the library is found to test positive for COVID, we will have to close again.
• Restrooms are CLOSED to the public.
• You must wear a MASK and maintain 6 feet social distancing.
• Return all books and DVDs in the BOOK DROP. Do not bring them inside. NO DONATIONS at this time.
• SIX people will be allowed into the Library at one time. Of these six, 3 people can use the public PCs at one time. You must limit your public PC use to 1 hour. If you bring your own device, you are welcome to use the Wi-Fi outside–as long as you maintain 6 feet social distance from your fellow patrons.
• Because we are limiting the number of people, you can make an APPOINTMENT before you leave home.
ENTRY PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE WHO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IN ADVANCE.
If you don’t make an appointment, you can either knock on the door (please wear a mask and maintain 6 feet social distance) or call us from your car to see if there’s room for you. Our number is 865-376-9905.
• Please limit your time in the library so that others can come in.
• We’ll waive fines for the present but please return your checked-out books as soon as you can. Put them in the book drop!
• Please have exact change when you pay us. No large bills.
• The children’s toys and play area are not available. If you bring your kids, be sure they wear masks and that they observe social distancing.
• We will continue curbside pickup if you prefer that. Call us with your order. 865-376-9905
We are now offering the TWRA boating safety exam. READ CAREFULLY:
• You MUST make an appointment for this. Call us at 865-376-9905.
• You MUST get a PRINTED ticket in order to take the test. [Electronic tickets are NOT acceptable.] Tickets are available at Walmart (sports department) and Food City Kingston (service desk).
• You can pick up a FREE TWRA study book to take home before you take the test.
